Place L’Acadie is located between the Laurentian Autoroute and boulevards Henri-Bourassa and L’Acadie. MJM’s noise climate study included measurements at several locations on the site and on the facades of the existing buildings. These measurements were used to calibrate a computer model of the site which was made using CADNA/A sound propagation software. After calibration, the existing buildings were replaced with the new buildings in the computer model, and the traffic noise levels on the ground and at the facades of the new buildings were evaluated.  Using the noise exposure determined by the computer model, MJM recommended the acoustic barrier to put in place along the property line and the composition of the envelope of the buildings to reduce the traffic noise to levels in compliance with the CMHC criteria road noise levels transmitted to outside recreational areas and inside dwellings.
